林恩•马古利斯（Lynn Margulis,1938—2011）,出生于芝加哥,美国著名生物学家和科普作家,加州大学伯克利分校生物学博士,曾任波士顿大学生物学教授,现任马萨诸塞大学荣誉教授、美国航空航天总署行星生物计划共同主持人。她以研究真核生物的进化备受推崇,是现今生物学界普遍接受的“内共生学说”的主要建构者,此学说解释了细胞中某些胞器,如线粒体的由来。马古利斯发表过上百篇学术论文,出版著作十余本,曾获选美国国家科学院与俄罗斯科学院,并在2000年获颁美国国家科学奖章。
