他自述在十五歲已成為不可救藥的書癡,在高中的最後兩年,他發現住家騎車不遠就有個迷人的書店「狂妄的烏鴉」。這家書店在當時就設有咖啡座,牆上掛滿作家肖像,在營造書店氛圍上領先同行數十年,作者完全被這家書店迷住了,經過兩年不間斷的申請,他終於在上了大學後獲得這家書店的工讀機會,從此,也開展了他與書店的不解之緣。作者說,他從沒懷疑過,在書店工作是他一生的志願。
