雷．布萊伯利 Ray Bradbury

（1920～2012） 美國小說家、散文家、劇作家、編劇、詩人

1920年出生於伊利諾州沃基根市。自洛杉磯高中畢業後,白天在街頭賣報,晚上於公共圖書館讀書、寫作,並在《怪譚》（Weird Tales）等雜誌發表作品。1943年成為全職作家,1947年出版第一部作品《黑色嘉年華》。

1950年的長篇小說《火星紀事》為其成名代表作,描述地球人嘗試殖民火星,結局出人意表。1953年發表的《華氏451度》則以一個壓制自由的未來世界、禁止人們擁有或閱讀書籍的故事,深刻描寫出現代人在不自覺中反受科技與娛樂禁錮的存在狀態；這部膾炙人口的反烏托邦小說,曾由法國著名導演楚浮拍成電影,亦獲美國國會圖書館評選為「20世紀最有影響力的百大小說」。其傑作還包括《圖案人》、《蒲公英酒》、《闇夜嘉年華》等書。
